At 847 kilograms, the cultivar clears the Atlantic Giant Decision threshold with room to spare, and the selective-breeding lineage you mentioned in your cover note satisfies Precedent 2009-03 precisely, so the pumpkin itself is not the problem. The problem is that Teddy has been actively reorganizing the produce brief since sometime in 2023, a reorganization I did not sanction, and submissions routed to that folder are functionally in purgatory. Filed a routing complaint to the records desk on Tuesday. The pumpkin will be catalogued. The wait is an administrative injury, not an editorial one.

A 3-by-4-meter garden shed is a rectangle of entirely ordinary dimensions, and the Silhouette Test under Amendment 1991-08 requires that a subject's cross-sectional profile generate what the amendment specifically calls "a perceptible departure from the expected." A shed that resembles every other shed in Swindon does not depart from anything. Tell your neighbor to consult the amendment at /about/documents/amendment-1991-08/ and direct any follow-up correspondence to the general submissions queue, where it will be handled in the order it is received, which is to say slowly.

The G7 nations appear to be conducting trade negotiations by announcing tariffs, retracting them, and announcing them again. Do you have any comment?
This is a documentation problem, not a trade problem. A tariff announcement without a stable numeric value and a fixed effective date is a draft submission, and draft submissions are not policy any more than a penciled measurement on a napkin is a catalogue entry. The Style Guide, Section III, requires that all quantitative criteria be stated in final form before they enter the record. What the G7 is doing is circulating a first draft, arguing about it loudly in the car park, and calling that a framework. Filed a methodological objection to no one in particular, which is about as effective as filing it to the G7.

I noticed the coffee machine in your break room has been broken since March. I saw it in the background of the video interview your Director of Editorial Operations gave to that podcast. Constance said it was "on the roadmap." That interview was from 2024.
The machine has been non-operational since March 14th of last year. Constance described it as "on the roadmap" in 2024, "in the pipeline" in early 2025, and, at our last all-hands meeting, "something we're actively parking-lot-ing for Q3," which is three Q3s after the Q3 she originally promised. Grievance No. 47 in the Personnel File covers the coffee machine specifically, and I invite you to read the response column, which contains the word "noted" and nothing else. I have been drinking tea from a mug that says "World's Okayest Fisherman." I do not fish.

Do you ever worry that the catalogue has lost its original purpose? The 1974 founding documents must have imagined something rather different from what you publish now.
I re-read the Founding Charter at /about/documents/founding-charter/ four times last calendar year, which is two more times than Bertram probably has, given that he drafts his guidance memos from the Margaret IV and has not been in the office building since a period I can only describe as "before the credenza." The Charter is clear on scope, and my position is that the catalogue operated in closest alignment with that scope between approximately 1986 and 2014, which is not a coincidence given that the 2014 Submissions Freeze Proposal, which I authored and which was tabled without a vote, would have locked in exactly that alignment. Whether I worry is not a category the catalogue tracks. Whether the record reflects the original purpose is, and it does not, and that is on file.
